Description
This is the view from the village, Villarreal de San Carlos in the middle of Monfrague National Park looking West on one rainy afternoon. It’s a fabulous walk up the winding path opposite to a lookout over the dam, looking back over at the castle. There were Griffon Vultures soaring past so close you felt you could reach out and touch them. I was interested to see the vultures land on what appeared to be a large nest on top of an oak tree canopy. These were good, early September rains giving rise to greenery under the canopies of the trees.
