Rookwood Studios gallery – opening soon!

Rookwood Studios is a gallery specialising in landscape and wildlife art.  Its home is a converted barn on a farm estate near the fishing village of Solva in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.  The gallery displays work representative of the rich natural heritage of the UK’s only coastal national park but it features work by artists from field studies all over the world. Our is aim to display work which captures the essence of wild places. Soon to be open to the public, we haven’t set a launch date but edge closer, with many prints and originals now framed, mounted and labelled up. Some of our beautifully rustic ash signs have been installed with a final few waiting to be hung. All of Rob’s plates from the African raptors field guide by William S. Clark and Rob Davies have been framed and mounted. Featured below is plate no. 2, Bat Hawk and Honey Buzzards. Guest artists include Lia Pellegrini, Paul MacDermot and local underwater photographer Lou Luddington. Lou was recently awarded second place in the Pembrokeshire Wildlife Photography Competition hosted by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum for her image “Cave of the blue jellyfish.” The coffee barista machine has been thoroughly tested with a range of different beans in readiness for our first customers. Watch this space for the opening…
