Red-thighed and Little Sparrowhawks gouache and water colour plate from African Raptors field guide by William S. Clark & Rob Davies.

Red-thighed are shown in typical rainforest habitat in Ghana and against the backdrop of the Virunga Volcanos on the Albertine Rift where these two species meet.  Little Sparrowhawks are shown in typical habitat in Zimbabwe – gallery forest with blue haze at Mana Pools.

45.8 x 30.4 cm original size.  Prints may be rolled into tubes for posting or mounted in cellophane total dimensions 46 x 61cms

Prints are printed at 600 dpi using an industry leading Epson 9900 printer with premium quality ink and printed on double weight matt 180 gsm paper in order to reproduce super high quality prints. We do our best to represent all images on this website as they would come out in print, but there may be slight variation due to the brightness and colour settings on individual monitors.

Please note prints are mounted but not framed.

Rob Davies

Rob studied art at school to A level and has kept the interest in painting going alongside a career in biology and conservation.  Although he prefers to sketch and paint from life in the field, Rob has been commissioned to do exact bird illustrations for various publications including journals, a monograph on the Black Eagle and a field guide to African birds of prey.
