Richard trained as an Architectural / Engineering Technical illustrator.
In 1990 he had a Brain Tumour removed which all but ended his professional career.
Richard taught himself to work in soft pastels and maintained an alternative income from painting pet portraits.
In 2015 he started working in Oil painting and now has an equal deep passion in painting in both media.
“Although I greatly despair about the abuse and plight of many animals and the wanton destruction of the environment.
Given my own circumstances I do as much as I can through charity auctions and percentage sales to help out with my paintings.”
Two of Richard’s paintings were shortlisted in the worthy and prestigious David Shepherd “Wildlife Artist of the Year 2017”
